Think Virgo is all about control and perfectionism? Think again.

Coming out of the most powerful Virgo season we've seen in a while – complete with two new moons and a solar eclipse finale – it's time to set the record straight about this deeply misunderstood sign. Virgo isn't the uptight librarian of the zodiac. It's the spiral force of evolution itself, the sacred bridge between what we can control and what we must surrender to.

What if your cluttered spaces aren't just messy – they're actually blocking your money flow? What if the ruler of Virgo isn't Mercury at all, but Earth herself? And what if that constant striving toward perfection that drives you crazy is actually your greatest evolutionary superpower?

In this episode...

🌍 Why Earth (not Mercury) is Virgo's true ruler and how this changes everything about the archetype

🌀 The sacred geometry of the Fibonacci spiral and what it reveals about Virgo's never-ending quest for the ideal

🕯️ How your spaces function as living altars that either support or sabotage your flow

💰 The circulation principle that transforms how you see money, expenses, and accumulation

💃🏻 Where Virgo meets Pisces in the dance between control and surrender

This isn't about organizing your junk drawer (though that might happen). This is about understanding the profound wisdom hidden in Virgo's devotion – not to perfection, but to the sacred work of constant refinement. You'll discover why that gap between actual and ideal isn't something to fix, but something to dance with. And you'll learn how to create the structures and rituals that invite divine flow while staying grounded in what's actually yours to control.

Virgo season closed with eclipse-lit skies, a spiral of order where clarity lies. I don't cast predictions, I open the now, to witness the patterns and notice the how. Mercury whispers, but Earth holds the reign the body, the ground, the root in the grain. Virgo's, the striving that never completes, the spiral that circles yet never repeats. Our spaces, are alters, they mirror our core. Decluttering clear space to call in much more. And money's a current, it flows when it's freed. Circulation returning exactly what's needed. Control has its borders, surrender its place. Virgo and Pisces, a balance, a grace. Here in the tension of order and trust, we learn what to hold and what to entrust. Virgo is a sign that is so misunderstood. We think of it as the control freak, the librarian, the sign of checklists and critiques. But, oh my goodness, it's so much more. I feel so qualified and inspired to share more about the archetype of Virgo with you today, as the spiral force of evolution itself. We just moved out of Virgo season. Which, if you know me and my style as an astrologer, I'm not big on prediction. I prefer to use the tool of astrology to better orient ourselves into and leverage the opportunities of the now and to look backwards, to use it as a lens to better understand what the hell just happened, whenever, whatever happens, and to be able to file things away in the context of the bigger story arcs, the bigger spirals unfolding. With that in mind, and having just moved out of such a powerful Virgo season, that actually had two new moons, one at the beginning and end of it. The one at the end was also a supercharged one as a solar eclipse. That eclipse was only a few degrees from my Virgo moon in my 10th house. So this just felt like the perfect time being in the rippled aftermath of such a powerful Virgo season, to talk about Virgo, to do what I see as a public service or a Virgo service. To feature the magic of Virgo that I think just gets so buried and undervalued and yeah, just misunderstood. Let's better understand so that we can better leverage and embody the archetype of Virgo. Virgo's medicine is definitely not about perfection. In fact, it is the antithesis of perfection and we'll get more into that, but it is about devotion. In this episode, we are going to ground into Virgo's deeper wisdom through the rulership, which is actually a very interesting story, even if you're not an astrologer. The rituals that you are being invited to get more intimate with and the real world ways that it shapes our realities and also the material money flow of our lives and businesses. We're going to look at why Virgo may not actually belong to Mercury and what Earth reveals about its true rulership, from my unconventional perspective. How cluttered spaces mirror cluttered minds, and how decluttering invites circulation. More circulation in all things, in all energetic currents, but including money as well. The evolutionary power hidden in Virgo's constant striving toward the ideal, toward perfection. What the Fibonacci Spiral teaches us about Virgo's sacred geometry and where Virgo meets Pisces in ritual, control, surrender, and swirling into the mystery of all of this territory that is worth leaning into. Let's get into it. As you may or may not know, we recently moved out of a very special Virgo season, like I was just saying, that had two new moons. The final one was an eclipse, and I just think this is such a powerful time. You were touched by Virgo. It was powerful enough that everybody was, so this is the perfect time to help make the connection for you of what that touch was, what that impact that influence was so that you can better understand your relationship to this archetype that we move through in various ways, in various seasons, but always this time of year. I want to help orient you in the now of the ripples, the aftermath, the trailing shooting star influence of that powerful season that just passed, but first a little cosmic storytelling. Let's get back to basics for a moment. There is something in astrology known as rulership, where there are planets that rule over the signs. There are two different sets of rulership relationship. There's traditional rulers and modern rulers, this is because the traditional rulers are just the ones that we could see with the naked eye. That the ancients knew about and were connected with. And so of course the system was designed actually quite beautifully and symmetrically. There was definitely an order to it all and a beauty to it, but there were many where there were two signs to each planet. Then fast forward to the invent of the telescope and our ability to see planets further out. The discovery of Uranus and Neptune and Pluto. And the phenomenon that occurred when each of those were discovered because it meant certain signs finding their rightful rulers, now known as the modern rulers, because those planets, and it's so interesting, if you look back historically as well, when each of those planets was discovered and the awareness of them brought into the collective consciousness. There was also a huge wave of expression that mirrored the territory of the archetype of those planets. For example, when Uranus discovered there were revolutions that broke out globally. Then when Neptune was discovered, there were big shifts in the religious and philosophical climates or consider the more detailed anecdote that anesthesia was publicly demonstrated at the same time, Neptune is all about escapism. When Pluto was discovered was when Freudian psychology was popularized and our relationship to the unconscious changed forever. So there is this phenomenon whereby as within, so without, when we discover these reflections of these planetary bodies, it unlocks and awakens an aspect of our human experience. And also unlocks expanded expression in the sign that then found it as its rightful ruler. For example, when Uranus was discovered, it became the ruler of Aquarius, which Aquarius was previously and traditionally ruled by Saturn. So before this, we understood Aquarius more, the kind of man as an island, independence. The side of Aquarius, that's all about dancing to the beat of your own drum, the way that Saturn is about solitude. But then when Uranus was discovered, it unlocked this whole other dimension of Aquarius that then became more and more expressed in us as well, of being weird and different and letting your freak flag fly. So not a total 180 to what Aquarius was before, but this part of it that was not nearly as expressed because Saturn doesn't get down with that stuff. Then with Neptune its discovery also meant that Pisces was no longer ruled by Jupiter. Now by modern rulership, Pisces was ruled by Neptune and a whole other dimension of spirituality, one where it was much more widespread to start to have your own personal relationship with a higher power and not need to have that middleman connection made through the church. This was all made possible because Pisces, under Jupiter's rulership, was so much more just about the expansion that is possible and the emotional experience of expanding your horizons and what you believe is possible. Similar to Sagittarius, it wasn't as different until Neptune came into play. The veil got a lot thinner, and the nuance and depth of our relationship to spirituality became a very different thing. Then with the discovery of Pluto, Scorpio was previously ruled by modern ruler Mars, similar to Aries, and was much more about the side of Scorpio that's really intense. Whereas Pluto came along and the opening of our understanding and exploration of our unconscious, and again, it became so much deeper than just about intensity. It became about the actual transformational processes that happen, about the energy that gets freed, the power that gets reclaimed when we are able to do the kind of healing work that goes into those dark underworld places and comes back healed, brighter, stronger, all the things. That happened for all of the ones that had two signs. The only one that that didn't happen for is Virgo. Virgo and Gemini are both ruled by Mercury. Same thing with these others. It was almost like those other signs were adopted, children of these parent ruler planets, and then they found their real parent, right? And the one that was left, which was Capricorn with Saturn a much better fit. With Neptune, we were left with Sagittarius and Jupiter, a better fit. And with Pluto, we were left with Aries with Mars, which makes more sense. If you look at Mercury ruling Gemini and Virgo, it's pretty obvious that Mercury aligns more with Gemini. Mercury is that, you know, mercurial, Gemini like, air planet with that air sign. And then we still have adopted child Virgo under the rulership of Mercury that, as I see it, makes it so that we focus more on the mental aspects of it, the critical nature, the nerdiness, and we really miss the power and the magic of the grounded earth element that Virgo is. This is why I like to think about it, and it makes so much more sense to me, that the ruler of Virgo is Earth herself. If we break down Virgo into its components, we have the earth element and we have the mutable, or I like to think of as spiral, dynamic movement of that earth energy and is there a better representation of an embodiment of that principle of earth energy in spiral, dynamic, evolutionary momentum than planet Earth herself, than the ecosystem whereby everything fits together. When one thing moves or changes, the other things change to compensate, and everything is constantly shifting and moving to never fully be in balance. We're going to talk more about later in this episode, this aspect of Virgo where it's never balanced, it's never symmetrical, it's never perfect, but it's always moving in that direction. There's a motivation or a guidance inherent in that, that when something's off, you know what to tweak or fix or change to get closer to ideal. That is an evolutionary superpower that has been a driving force to the evolution of life on this planet. So mic drop, I plead my case. I see Earth as the ruler of Virgo, and I think that having this perspective really helps to see and unlock the magic of Virgo that gets missed by only really understanding it and focusing on the archetype of it through the ruler of Mercury, which is so much more about mind. Whereas Virgo is about a deep symbiosis that is present between us and our material reality. The Earth element manifest in our realm and how we are able to interact with and dance and move and evolve with and alongside the stuff and things that is reflecting our human experience of growth. With that, I want to move into understanding Virgo as a living altar. Our stuff is not just stuff, our things are not just taking up space. They are reflecting our relationship to the Earth element itself. As expressed through and projected into our relationship with the stuff and things. In this way, our spaces where we house and store our stuff and things mirrors our internal state and, something we'll get into in a bit here too, creates the opportunity for us to exert the control that is available to us over our state. So we're able to as within, so without be mindful and intentional and conscious and deliberate about the stuff that we have, how it is preserved, arranged, tended, and cared for. And of course, we're talking about the stuff in our reality, in our homes, in our cars. We're also talking about our money, everything that is in the material world. It exists as an opportunity to be in right relationship with it. What that opens up and makes possible is so much further reaching than just the stuff or thing. Decluttering creates clarity and space for what we want to call in. The more that you are intentional about what's in your space, and the more that you make it a regular practice and a way of life to clear out what no longer fits, what isn't in alignment with your now or the future self that you are moving into, that's connected more with the past version of you, you are able to symbolically let go of that shit and in so doing, let go of the parts of yourself that it is time to let go of so that you can create more space, more opening for the version of yourself you want to call in, for the actual stuff and things that you want to be able to call into your life and for the lifestyle that you are aiming for. We are talking about circulation here, if you want to be able to call in more and more of what you actually want, you need to be willing to sacrifice, to let go of that which you have outgrown, that which is just taking up extra space. Understanding this phenomenon, this natural phenomenon, helps to frame the circulation of money and to reframe what your expenses are for. It's not just about accumulating more and more with the stuff or with the money. It's about creating an intentional circulation and flow, where whether it's stuff or money, you have more coming in all the time, but you also have more going out. I would say with the stuff it's like more obvious and natural that you are constantly getting more stuff but not letting go of it. Some people die with a lifetime of shit, that their kids have to sort through. I'm actually reading a book right now, or listening to an audio book, by Messy Condo about tidying your shit and not dying with a mountain of it. Y'all, she's hilarious. Check out her couple books. She's a comedian, but I think also a professional organizer and she just really helps you to understand what's actually going on underneath this insane normal that it is for our culture, just to keep accumulating more and more stuff. If you're going to keep buying shit on Amazon, you need to also be continually getting rid of stuff, donating, throwing away, or otherwise letting it go. However, when it comes to the money side of things, it's kind of opposite, right? Until we figure out sustainability as entrepreneurs, it seems like we're so much more focused on the outflow, the expenses, the cost, the investment. But a reframe that is available to you and necessary to be in right relationship with this Virgo phenomenon of circulation that maintains the health of any ecosystem, churn, change, is that the money has to go out to come back in. It's all part of it. Seeing the money that goes out as investments, no matter what the expense is, even things you wouldn't normally frame as an investment, everything that goes out is an investment for more to come back in. Speaking of how you tend your money, your spaces, your stuff and things, clutter can happen like we've been talking about both internally and externally. When it does, especially when it happens unconsciously, it blocks your clarity and ultimately blocks the circulation, that in the case of money, is what you need to be able to bring in more. When your spaces are stagnant, whether it's inside of you, outside of you, stuff feels heavy, it feels stuck, and you feel disconnected. Imagine alternatively treating your environment and your money flow as a living altar, where every corner of your reality actually supports your flow. Spending becomes circulation that invites more in. When I was talking about that, did it light up something in you? Because if it did, I have a free guide that you're going to want to snag and check out and put into practice. It's called Loving Up Your Money Spaces, a guide to intentionally setting your inner and outer spaces for success. It is a simple way to bring the Virgo devotion that we are talking about into this episode, into your life, into your money flow, and into your spaces. You can get that guide at cosmicb.link/moneyspaces. It is an instant download and it will help you to declutter and intentionally set your inner and outer spaces for success. Now I want to talk about the evolutionary superpower that I mentioned that is Virgo. Which has to do with the gap that gets created, the gap that always exists in life, in living reality, between the actual and the ideal. Virgo is the ability to see the two superimposed on each other. So this is where you get the critical Virgo, the always noticing when a picture is crooked, it's because we can see how things are off from perfection, from what is ideal. There is a certain discomfort that is associated with that, with always seeing everything wrong. However, the superpower that comes with Virgo comes when you are able to make friends with that discomfort because it is actually a motivation that is unlike any other. When you can constantly see, feel, and know how things are off from how you want to be, you always can tune into what's that next step to refine, enhance, or improve whatever it is that you are working on or growing into or evolving within. It is so powerful, but the prerequisite is that you make friends with that discomfort and you let it be that motivation that it wants to be instead of something that causes you to complain. The way that I love to visualize this is with the golden ratio. The Fibonacci spiral and the rectangles that house it as it continues to spiral around. If you've ever seen a visual of this, that spiral keeps getting infinitely closer to the edges of the rectangle, but never actually touching it. They're like Asim totes if you know the language of mathematics, this is Virgo in play. Constantly getting closer and closer to perfection, but never actually touching it because if you touched it, you'd be dead. Life is that gap. As the spiral gets closer and closer to those edges, that draws us forward. The last important piece I want to present to better understand the power and the beauty of Virgo is to situate it within its polar opposite of Pisces. Virgo is what's within our control, I mentioned this earlier, it's the things like, we have control over the stuff and things in our spaces. What we let go of, how we organize and create our homes as the living alters of our externalized happy places. On the flip side, Pisces is what we surrender to. It's the miracles, it's the divine timing. It's the serendipities that we never could have planned ourselves. These two together create a full picture of how magic happens essentially, but also create a line between what is our responsibility and what is not. We both need to do what is our role and responsibility. That's half of it and understanding what that is. But we also need to not do and get out of our own way around things that are not our role and responsibility. One way that this is very apparent is in the work I do inside Cosmic Currency with my students, which is getting really clear what is actually your role and responsibility when it comes to your money flow. Which includes knowing exactly what your expenses are now and the ones, the investments, the upgrades that you're aiming for at your next level so that you know exactly how much you need to bring in. That's your responsibility. You also need to be able to see a lot of different pathways that that amount can come in. So a lot of different combinations of income streams and various sales and price points and quantities and show yourself, wow, look, this could happen in so many different ways, this breaks you out of any mental limiting belief, disbelief around that it's possible. And of course, you need to actually have created the offers, the payment gateways, the checkout pages so that people can actually pay you. There's things that are your role and responsibility when it comes to the incoming cash flow. But then you need to get out of your own way of the actual how. You need to be ready to get your mind blown at the miracles and serendipitous ways and things that come in that you weren't expecting because that's what creates the space for this or something better. So you set the this, but you release all attachment to it and you open yourself to receive something even better. Together, kind of at the space between the two, Virgo and Pisces is where ritual lives. It's where you do those seemingly mundane details, but you do them over and over like clockwork. You do them ritually and reliably so that you can be met by the magic of that which you did not plan or design. You do your part to show up ritually and reliably so that the miracles can happen. I know of no better place to apply this than when it comes to your money flow. Money exists at the bridge between the immaterial and the material, the energetic flow of sustenance and the material monetary manifestation of money, that is our value exchange in this realm. That's why it's so important for you to do the things that are in your power and in your control, but are also your role and responsibility as the earner of the money, but also open yourself to receive the abundance, not grip so tightly that it can't happen in ways that you are not expecting. So basically with money, like with everything else, Virgo teaches us that we need to set and maintain and nurture clear structures and rituals while leaving space for the divine flow to play its hand. If you take nothing else away from this episode, I hope you remember and are left with and reflect back on your recent last season between the solar eclipse and the New Moon before that to deepen your commitment to the practices, the rituals, and the willingness to keep showing up messy and imperfect. Virgo devotion is not about perfection. If you're making it about perfection, you're doing it wrong. It's about ritual, it's about the clarity within the scope of what life wants us to see. I'll tell you that one of my most powerful psychedelic experiences was a DMT trip where the green man came and swooped me up and took me on this journey to show me some things. First he led me through, it was like we were combination kind of flying, kind of swimming through this viscous but rainbow, almost like oil spill, but a gorgeous, rainbowy substance and we're moving through and he's showing me, and I'm seeing these bubbles, right? These like iridescent glowing bubbles and each one contained something I was holding, something I was worried about something on my to-do list, like all the things that I was carrying, all of the mundane things. We went through them one at a time and then he backed me up and we zoomed out and I could see the Mandle brought fractal, Google it if you don't know what this looks like, it's the one that kind of looks like an ink blot. Where there's bulges and then little fractal bulges, right? I could see that that was the substance that we were swimming in. It was this beautiful fractal. And then at the tips of each of the arms were these bubbles that I was seeing as I was moving through this, I was left with and shown this deep wisdom and truth that you don't need to organize all of this. You don't need to try and control or make sure everything is where it should be. You can leave that to the powers that you know, greater, bigger, beyond, that is being done for you. All you need to do is focus on what is put right in front of you. Give your full focus and attention on the task at hand, and trust that everything else is being organized for you. You show up for the parts that are yours to show up for, do so regularly, and ritually and intentionally, and create enough trust and spaciousness for the divine hand to play its too. As you tend your spaces and your money, remember the importance of circulation above accumulation.
